Correlation between serum glucose/potassium ratio and the severity of mushroom poisoning at the time of admission to the emergency departments.

Exposure to wild mushrooms can lead serious toxicity and death. It is accepted that patients who ingest potentially lethal typically develop signs after six hours. However, clinical manifestations of poisoning occur less than hours ingestion do not exclude the potential for life-threatening toxicity, especially when more one type mushroom has been eaten. Whereas there are any parameters help establish severity poisoning. In this study, we aimed determine relationship serum glucose/potassium ratio cases.This a retrospective study which includes 510 cases between years 2007 - 2018. Data consisted age, gender, history including time from consumption first symptoms, date presentation, discharge laboratory results complete blood cell count, biochemistry tests liver renal function, coagulation profile. Patients included in were classified as mild-moderate severe groups according characteristics. Glucose, BUN, Creatinine, ALT, AST mean values significantly higher clinically group (p=0.008, p=0.01, p=0.039, p=0.037, p=0.046 p=0.036 respectively). The sensitivity, specificity area under curve follows; 0.68, 0.57 (AUC %95CI) was 0.0647. Glucose/potassium predict poisonings our helpful by management result.
